Faker also released the 1998 – Melbourne Edition EP in conjunction with Record Store Day featuring remixes by his peers in the Melbourne house and techno scene.

Faker delivers the new version of “1998” to fans as he kicks off his North American summer festival run. He will perform live this Friday, July 31 at the Osheaga Music & Arts Festival in Montreal and this Saturday, August 1 at the Lollapalooza Music & Arts Festival in Chicago, where he’ll play at 6:30pm on the Pepsi Stage. An artist of considerable range, Chet Faker—the name taken by Melbourne-raised, Brooklyn-based Nick Murphy—writes, performs and records all of his own music, giving it a warm, intimate feel with a solid groove structure. His critically acclaimed debut full length album Built On Glass was released on Downtown/Future Classic/Opulent
in the spring of 2014.

After being named to a number of “Best of 2014” lists, his popularity in the U.S. was cemented in 2015 with performances of his hit single “Gold” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January and Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April, and with a sold out spring headline tour that included three nights at New York’s Terminal 5, two nights at Los Angeles’ Club
Nokia, and two live performances at Coachella. His video for “Gold” has also been viewed over 18 million times and was recently nominated for an MTV Video Music Award (“Best Choreography”).
